Me

I am the Executive Director (interim until 2022) of the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University. I came to Mason to work with Roy in 2001, and it is a great honor to serve as the fourth Executive Director of our Center. I am also a full professor in the Department of History and Art History. For the past three years I have been a member of the presidential team of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL), and was the society’s president in 2018-2019.

Over the years I’ve done a lot of things here at Mason, including being:

– A Presidential Fellow
– Associate Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences
– Director, Global Affairs Program
– Director, Global Interdisciplinary Programs
– Director of a large general education course (with 8 postdoctoral teaching fellows)

In the limited spare time I have, I’m an active backpacker and hiker, and I keep trying to get better at photography.
