The Department of History and Art History at George Mason University (where CHNM is located) has just received approval to hire a tenure track digital historian. We are very excited about this new position, which will be half in the Department teaching digital history courses and half in CHNM working on existing projects and developing new ones for us. If you know anyone who would be interested in applying or who should be interested in applying, please pass the word to them.
If you are interested in applying, you need to go to the GMU online application page and the number for this position is F5343z. Specific questions about the search should be directed to me, since I am the chair of the search committee. A formal advertisement will appear in the usual outlets soon.
Here is the link to the formal posting of the position.
What a pity you can’t link directly to the job posting.
Hi Ben:
This is the system we have…A formal copy of the job posting will go up on the CHNM website news blog (http://chnm.gmu.edu/news/) soon.
Mills
Just noticing that it seems to be the same system Karin Dalziel and I have been grumbling about. Any idea what the back-end technology is?
I don’t know what the back end is, sorry.
Okay, I figured it out. If you want to make a permalink to a PeopleAdmin job listing, find the job posting manually using the search tools. Look at link target for the view link — this target should be something like
javascript:void(0); /* 251134 */
See the integer in the JavaScript comment? That’s the rowId of the job listing. You can append that rowId value to https://jobs.gmu.edu/applicants/Central?delegateParameter=applicantPostingSearchDelegate&actionParameter=getJobDetail&rowId=
That will link directly to the posting. (e.g.)
It’s not pretty, but neither is a job posting that nobody can link to.
Wow, Ben- thanks! This will come in handy.
Not that I’ll be applying since I still have a couple of semesters of coursework left before I start my dissertation, but the jobs site doesn’t have a listing for the position number yet…
