The rise of the small and very inexpensive laptop is the subject of the most recent edition of the Digital Campus podcast that went up online today. Tom, Dan, and I discussed the One Laptop Per Child project and what its small and cheap laptops–as well as other small and cheap laptops–might mean for higher education generally. Lucky us–our conversation took place just before Steve Jobs debuted the MacBook Air. Of course the Air is small, but not cheap, so in a way it is not really germaine to what we discussed, but it would have been nice to be able to see one (Steve, if you are reading this, you can send me one to test and then review in the blog) before we chatted.
No matter. Take a listen to Digital Campus and be sure to let us know what you think.
