Remembering April 16

Posted on April 25, 2007April 25, 2007 by Mills

When someone says “September 11” we all know what he means. Here in Virginia, “April 16” is rapidly taking on a similar iconic meaning as we remember the 32 victims at Virginia Tech University. This past weekend we gave colleagues there a version of the software platform that our Hurricane Digital Memory Bank is built on (soon to be available for general open source release) and they have now put up the April 16 Archive.

Like the Hurricane project and our earlier September 11 Digital Archive, the April 16 archive collections the stories, images, files, and other digital objects related to April 16. The tragedy at Virginia Tech effects us all. Please take a moment to go to the site and leave your own personal reflection on the events of that terrible day.
