The AHA Blog

The American Historical Association has entered the blogosphere. The AHA’s Blog AHA Today premiered on September 28, but not much happened there until this week when staff members began posting more regularly. It will be interesting to see how an organization like the AHA uses the relative freedom of blogging to engage both its members and the general public in discussions about history and the historical profession. Individual bloggers are limited in what they say only by their own sense of what constitutes good taste and relevant material. Membership organizations like the AHA also have to answer to their members and so may find it more difficult to use blogging. Stay tuned…
